How to Increase and decrease the size of hard disk partition

Partition (English: Partition), the file system and storage media management is a part of the memory or storage media that is logically separate the functions as if physically separated sections. Media storage is partitioned memory (either physical memory or virtual memory by the operating system's memory manager), hard disks, magneto-optical disk (MO Disk), and some flash memory. Nevertheless, the current partition term used to refer to parts of the hard disk.

Partition is created when users make using the utility partition (like utility DOS / Linux fdisk, FIPS, Disk Druid, Windows diskpart utility, or commercial product Symantec Norton Partition Magic) and format it by giving it a specific file system.
Often we will create a new partition on a hard drive that has a large capacity (500GB for example) into two or more partitions, for the purposes of installing another operating system such as ubuntu or windows 7, here we will show you how to create a new partition diharddisk, or how to zoom in and out shrink the size of the partition on the hard drive using the operating system is Windows 7 or Windows Vista.
Windows 7 and vista are available partitioning utility, so we're not going to use a third party utility like norton partion magic etc, open the Control Panel and type "partition" in the search box, open ajah links that appear on "Create and format hard disk partitions"

Shrink the partition size

In the Disk Management screen, right click on the partition you want to turn down, and select "Shrink Volume" from the menu.

In the dialog box "Shrink", enter the partition size is that we will use later on, for example, we want to create a new partition for 10Gb (from 50GB), type 10000 in the box "Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB:"

Adding a Partition Size

In the Disk Management screen, right-click on the partition you want to add, and choose "Extend Volume" from the menu.

On this screen, we will restore the partition had been reduced to its original size (50GB) so enter the value 10000 to the "Select the amount in MB:"
So a way to shrink the size of the partition in dah add windows 7 and vista, so if we want to add a new partition, reduce the original partition first, then make a new partition by right-clicking an empty partition (10000 Unlocated) and select "New simple volume". Then a new window will pop up "New simple volume wizard". Click Next:

Next on the following window if we want to change the partition size will be made later, just enter a new size, if not, click next.

In the following window, we aimed to select the new partition is a drive E:-and we want to make a partition F: etc.. Click next.

Then we will be given the option to choose what type of partition would be made to the partition FAT, FAT32 or NTFS, and the option to quickly format the new partition (Perform a quick format), and the name of the partition. (Volume Label). rename it with the name you want, for example, this partition we will fill ubuntu os, so exchange only use Ubuntu Linux name, in the "Volume label" then click "Next".

In the next window click on the "Finish", then Windows 7 will make the process of formatting a new partition that we created, after the new drive will appear in Windows Explorer or on my computer, with the name of the drive E: (if you'd choose to use drive E :), a new partition is ready to insert the new operating system, or to store documents etc..
